Map

In the pictures of these maps you can see the difference in the Southern Song Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty from modern day China. The vastly spreading Mongol empire conquered the Southern Song Dynasty, map on the left, to add to their very large empire. They then made it the Yuan Dynasty in what is now China. The Yuan Dynasty lasted from 1280 BC to 1365 BC.The Yuan dynasty took up almost all of China and went farther north into what is now Mongolia and Russia. It also was as south as modern day Myanmar. It went west into modern day India and Bangladesh. It has the same eastern border as modern day China against the Pacific Ocean if you don’t include the small eastern part in modern day North Korea. The Southern Song Dynasty was south of the Yellow River and the Mongols were to the north of it. The Mongols crossed the river invading and conquering the southeast part of modern day China. The difference between the Yuan Dynasty and modern day China is China is farther west and he Yuan dynasty is father south east, north, and northeast.
